Shaw Family Reunion 2010
Final Update
In just over 3 weeks we will all gather for our family reunion at Bowron Lake Resort. I am very excited about all being together and making lasting memories as a family. I will be contacting everyone about your assignments and assigned food item for our family pot luck barbecue on Saturday night. Below is a list of things to remember to bring; prices for admission and activities in Barkerville for your information and planning and driving instructions to get to the resort.

Bowron Lake Resort is a huge resort with lots of room for us all, and is set in an incredibly beautiful area. It is surrounded by mountains, on the shore of a beautiful lake, and has a river flowing around the end of the resort. We couldn’t ask for a more beautiful place for our reunion.
I want to reiterate the fact that this resort is in “rustic” condition. Please plan as if you were tenting, as the cabins are unheated and stoves don’t work. They have electricity & flush toilets. Heated showers are available in the shower houses, but again, in rustic condition. Please remember to bring heaters, if you have young children. You must bring your own bedding, and cooking utensils, pots, dishes, grills, etc.
The weather in the mountains can be windy, rainy, snowy & cold or absolutely perfect. Please be prepared with appropriate clothing for all conditions.
You are responsible for your own food, methods of cooking and preparation, as we haven’t charged a reunion fee. We are all pooling together for a family dinner on Saturday night.

Food is available in Barkerville. It might be pricy, so if you are worried about cost, pack your meals for the day or how-ever long you wish to stay. Most people will be driving home Sunday night. Some of us aren’t leaving until Monday morning, so we will drive back to the resort after our day in Barkerville.
If anyone has questions regarding anything to do with the reunion, please contact either Jen or myself before we leave on the Friday, July 30th. Please plan carefully, and that will ensure things run smoothly. We want to try to avoid last minute emergencies due to lack of planning.
ARRIVAL AT BOWRON LAKE-REUNION
Upon your arrival at the Bowron Lake Resort, please look for Jen, Jim or myself for your Reunion Information Package . We will keep an eye out for everyone near the office. If you are camping, just go find a spot and we’ll find you. Friday night is just a time to visit, hang out, explore or do your own thing.
Please remember everything you need for your assigned activity or responsibility. We are counting on you doing your part. Also, please remember your assigned food item for our Saturday Night Family Pot luck Barbecue. Thanks in advance.
SEE YOU ALL AT THE REUNION……
